Please fill this form if you want to use the local resources.
A container or a notebook instance will be created.
We strongly suggest python users to request a notebook for two main reasons: 1- the persistent storage space is the main space available, therefore it is more difficult to lose your work; 2- the resources are assigned on demand, when necessary, therefore it is easier to find scarce resources such as GPUs.
The notebook is based on jupiter and is backed by a container whose resources can be specified at login time. The resources specified here will be ignored in this case. They are necessary in case a container is requested (see below).
The container is based on Ubuntu and accessible through ssh with root access once the request is approved. The container will have the resources requested (if available) including the persistent storage space (normally mounted in \work). According to the container usage model, only such storage is considered persistent. The applications installed as well as files stored outside this space may be lost at any time (e.g. if the container is moved, stopped, etc.).
We can provide a standard container based on Ubuntu with ssh access or a jupiter notebook backed by a container. When a notebook is requested, there is no need to specify the resources as these will be chosen by the user at login time. In case a container is requested, the related requested resources should also be specified. Otherwise, a container with base configuration will be provided.
For special requests (e.g. different kinds of containers available on docker hub) please use the field "special requests" below.
The container may also have a GPU attached, but the availability of GPUs is limited. Therefore, requests with a GPU may be delayed or refused based on availability. Request with no GPU have much higher chances of being accepted.
